OKX fees and VIP tiers: read your account's real rate

Find the fee that applies to your OKX account, compare maker and taker scenarios and assess VIP savings without chasing volume.

Read the logged-in rate, not a headline table

OKX's fee FAQ directs users to their logged-in trading fee information and the fee display for a particular instrument. That distinction matters: a public visitor's table need not match your account, region or product. On the website, the documented route is Assets, then My trading fees. Record the rate relevant to the specific pair before calculating a cost. If the label or navigation differs in your regional app, use the equivalent account fee section or the official help route. The purpose is to identify the rate applied to you, not to find the lowest number on the site.

Build a comparison with matching assumptions

A useful worksheet has one row for each product and execution scenario. For example, compare a hypothetical 3,000 USDT spot fill at 0.10% with the same fill at 0.08%. The costs are 3 USDT and 2.40 USDT, a difference of 0.60 USDT. These figures illustrate arithmetic only; they are not a current OKX tier quote. Keep the trade value and currency identical when comparing. If you change the order size, product and rate simultaneously, the result will not show which factor actually changed your costs.

Use completed fills to explain maker and taker differences

Your intended order type does not provide the final fee answer. An order can match immediately or wait in the book, and the relevant execution classification affects the applicable rate. Start with the executed trade history when a fee seems unexpected. As an example, split a hypothetical 4,000 USDT order into 1,000 USDT at a 0.05% rate and 3,000 USDT at a 0.02% rate. The total is 0.50 + 0.60 = 1.10 USDT, rather than applying one rate to the entire order. Check actual quantities, prices and fee currencies before declaring a discrepancy.

Evaluate VIP benefits against activity you already planned

A higher tier can reduce transaction costs, but a lower displayed rate is not a reason by itself to create more trading. Calculate the potential saving on activity you already expect to perform. If your illustrative eligible monthly volume is 80,000 USDT and the difference between two rates is 0.01 percentage points, the estimated reduction is 8 USDT. Compare that figure with any extra costs required to change your behaviour. Additional trades introduce fees, spread and market exposure. Moving more assets onto an exchange also changes where those assets are held; it is not a cost-free mathematical switch.

Treat tier thresholds and product rules as changeable

Fee schedules can change. OKX issued a notice concerning spot and futures changes for VIP 7 and VIP 8 on 9 September 2026. That is one reason this guide does not freeze a full tier table into the article. Recheck the effective rules when your tier, location or trading product changes, and keep a dated copy of the information used in your calculation. A spreadsheet built months ago may still calculate correctly while using an outdated input. Review your assumptions before reusing it for a new reporting period.

Keep the exchange fee and cashback calculation separate

First establish what OKX charged; then establish which activity is eligible under the FeeBuddies partner arrangement. These are two different checks. Cashback does not imply that all funding, borrowing, withdrawal or other costs are refunded, and a percentage may apply to a partner commission base rather than your total fee bill. For your own records, keep columns for actual exchange charges, qualifying basis, applicable benefit rule and credited amount. If the basis is not yet confirmed, leave the estimate unresolved instead of substituting trading volume. That makes any later support question specific and easier to reconcile.

Should I copy the fee tier of another OKX user?

No. Use the rate shown for your own logged-in account and instrument. Another user's example may reflect a different region, tier, date or product, even when the exchange name is the same.

Does a VIP saving guarantee a larger cashback payment?

No. A lower exchange fee can reduce costs without increasing the amount eligible for cashback. The partner arrangement and qualifying commission basis determine the benefit; verify both before combining the figures.
